Article below is an extrapolation of possibilities which might or might not be feasible now or in near or far future. These flights of imagination are simply to extrapolate the possibilities and move in that direction:
In a far away galaxy in space,
lived a different kind of human race,
on a planet that could harness their sun rays.
When a child there knows how to walk and run,
and wash their daily ablutions,
the first ceremony like a graduation,
takes place at an age of seven.
The kids apply a special “green paste”
on their forearms and let it dry for a day
As it dries, what it tries to do is seep into the skin,
and make make nano bridges made up of protein
The photosystems then can start to utilize,
the nearby water and carbon-dioxide,
to make sugar that can be sent to the blood
Through these nano-bridges that can channel the sugar flood.
As the children adopt to the process under care and comfort,
the veterans are mastering the art of optimizing the work,
free to explore the nearby planets,
without the need to carry a tiffin box.
If there is anything that would make humans physically becoming (relatively) independent from the animal kingdom ? Out of the food pyramid and predator-prey games ?
The next logical/compassionate step the comes after going vegan, would be also live without having to eat plants as well, as they too are living beings!
Its about time we learn
the oldest chemical trick in the plants kingdom,
becoming photosynthetic!
To become autotropic (nutritionally atma-nirbhar) like the plants, then becoming photosynthetic would be an audacious but important goal to strive for.
Chemically synthesizing all the nutrients from atmosphere might give us the ability to simply consume less or even be free of the need to eat for 3 to 4 weeks!
Imagine we get some dose of energy just from the sunlight and we too are sucking in the CO2 and H2O, treating it back to give O2 which again we need for respiration.
One can start with a detached photosynthetic unit which produces sugar, that can be transfused into the viens via nano-needles.
What would be the carbon footprint of a population that can also photosynthesize ?
A green ceremony can be held to get the photosynthetic ability and that would be a more than handy green card for space travel to moon and mars!
Can this centuries technology replicate the photosystems of the plant cell and find a way to synergize with that of human system ?
Becoming Photosynthetic could be one of the Magnum Opus of the 21st century, beckoning all branches of science, arts and humanities.
