What is SSMSWC ?
SSMSWC is an act of reparation against caste discrimination and exclusion faced by sanitation workers community who majorly are Dalits. As a form of reparation to the Safai Karmchari community, and with the aim for effective altruism (https://samharris.org/podcasts/228-doing-good/) , the commitment is to give weekly 3 hours of coaching (online/offline) for students who want to pursue higher studies in natural sciences, and 5 % of my income as stipend for 5 students who not only learn but also take the extra step to mentor their peers at community level and spread scientific temper and humanism (Article 51 a(h) of the Indian Constitution).
Why in the name of Dr Meghnad Saha ?
Dr Saha as a scientist is well known for thermal ionization equation in stars and considered as a remarkable physicist. But his contribution to nation building via science communication, flood control, eradication of superstition including his struggle against the caste system is not well known. This mentorship is just a small tribute to his legacy.

Why exclusively sanitation workers community ?
In India, if there is any community which has been bearing the worst in all aspects of caste and class discrimination, it is the sanitation workers community.

Hence there is very less representation of them in the field of natural science and engineering. The main objective is to give at least 5 year and hopefully life-long free coaching to the students from sanitation workers community and equip them with tools, techniques and methods that make science easy as well as fun to learn. The children of sanitation workers can definitely become scientific officers and professors.
Hence this mentorship is exclusively for sanitation workers community, those who know someone who needs coaching or wish to pitch in so that we can cater to more students, drop a whatsapp message to 9029096196.
