Project Asan Vigyan first came into being on a hand-written bilingual study material for 9th standard students 4 years ago in Turbhe and Mankhurd, due to dire need for making Science Education accessible in Hindi medium schools with emphasis on playful collaborative non zero sum game approach. And oh boy! It has been a great journey of learning and doing, heartfelt thanks to all fellow voyagers!
A brief round up of what once started as just a regular science class, has evolved into:
- A website with bilingual science themed contents (www.asanvigyan.in)
- A map to learn science (9th and 10th) as an adventure tour using logical sequence (https://asanvigyan.in/2019/06/22/904/)
- Activity based science classes and study support at Turbhe (Ashish, Harsh, Sadhana, Roshni and Aanchal) and Govandi (Siddhesh)
- Science teacher training modules in Watsapp group platform (in collaboration with InfinIdea Foundation: https://www.facebook.com/infinideafoundation)
- Citizen science projects (CFL collection drive for use in development of mercury removal technology at BARC, Mumbai)
- Science Camps (participation in science camps at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, organized by MERIT (Mumbai Education and Research Innovation and Training: http://meritmumbai.org/))
- Gamification of learning and assessment: Novel methods of learning chemistry using cards and fun games (https://asanvigyan.in/2018/02/16/gamification-of-assessment-a-collaborative-non-zero-sum-game-approach-towards-chemistry/) (https://asanvigyan.in/2017/11/06/atomic-cards-simplified/) (https://asanvigyan.in/2017/03/09/atomic-card-game-birds-of-same-feather/)
- Jigyasa Science Tourism: Instagram page initiated by Linsha who came up with the idea of merging science and travel; looking out for scientific wonders and explaining the phenomena behind them!

Along the line of education, over time we realized a necessity to include economic opportunities as well via meaningful employment in science education sector.
Hence the formation of Science Start-Up Idea Lab.
